2023 Northeast Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Owen Murphy is a 2024 C/1B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Lincroft, NJ who attends Middletown High School South. Working exclusively from his primary spot behind the dish, Murphy showcased some whip to the arm action with developing arm strength up to 78 mph. He attempted to gain ground in the footwork and produced throws around the bag, posting a 2.07 pop time. Expect the pop time to further decrease as the operation becomes more repeatable. Offensively, the righty started from a narrow base with intent to stay on top of the ball and generate contact to all parts of the field. He flashed some hover to the leg trigger and stayed on the back side well, posting an exit velo of 76 mph. Ran a 5.16 forty yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
