DePhillps Mason -- Mason is a junior outfielder from Miami with very good raw tools and a very projectable athletic body. Mason’s 60 time translates to well above average on the Major League scale on a dry track and his arm strength is very good, too. He can definitely play centerfield with those tools. Like many toolsy young outfielders, Mason’s future will be determined by how much stronger he can get and what kind of adjustments he can make at the plate. Right now, Mason hits from a wide base and drifts forward very early. He doesn’t have the hand strength right now to help when he's fooled. He's definitely going to get bigger and stronger. DePhillips is a good student with a bright future in baseball. The tools are there, if he hits he'll be a good draft pick.
