Scott McNally is a 2009 RHP/IF with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Acworth, GA who attends Harrison HS. He has a medium build with some present strength. McNally throws a heavy fastball in the 80-84 mph range that will also have cutting action occasionally in addition to its sink. He likes busting his fastball inside, which makes it more effective with the movement. McNally threw a 70 mph curveball as his breaking pitch and it had tight spin and good break. With his ability to cut his fastball he should be able to learn a slider as well if he wants to. McNally also threw a nice 74 mph change up that had good late life. He works quickly, throws strikes and mixes up his pitches with maturity. McNally plays the infield when not pitching and shows his athleticism as a position player. He has a short, simple swing and very good hand quickness to the ball. He hit the ball hard consistently and to all fields. McNally looked like he knew how to play and should maximize his tools. He is also a very good student.
