Gavin Weir is a 2027 LHP/ with a 5-6 130 lb. frame from Sioux Falls, SD who attends Harrisburg. Smaller compact athletic frame. Ran a 7.88 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher with a small side step delivery, above the belt leg lift and a three-quarter arm slot with a medium stride length down the mound. Balanced and repeatable athletic movements in his delivery with a consistent release point. Worked the fastball in the mid 70's well east to west and up in the zone when in two strike counts. Best pitch is the curveball, a pitch he spins very well for his age, consistently registering above 2300 RPM. A pitch that shows consistent shape sweeping across the zone. The blend of athleticism, pitch-ability, and stuff to suggest a big leap ahead as he continues to develop. Also worked out at first base and the outfield where he showed some fundamental footwork, clean fielding actions and developing arm strength to go with consistently accurate throws. Hit from a narrow base and slightly open stance with load stride timing. Rotational swing, with a vertical bat path through the zone and the hand eye to get to the barrel with bat path. Consistently on time and put together quality in game at-bats. Named to Central Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
