Jake Wheeler is a 2024 RHP/3B, MIF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Sioux Falls, SD who attends O'Gorman. Taller frame with a medium build. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. A right-handed pitcher who works down the mound well with a small rocker step as he gets into his delivery. He starts squared to the plate and has controlled actions with a repeatable delivery. His fastball was up in the mid-70s as a part of his 3-pitch mix. He flashed a 12-6 shaped breaking ball that he maintains arm speed and spins well. He gets some swings and misses with the pitch, missing barrels. His third offering is a changeup that he kills the spin on, showing depth with some late tumbling action to it. He mixed in all three pitches as well. A right-handed hitter with a taller stance and narrow base. He starts with an open stance and closes off early. The hands start high and he keeps his back elbow up as he gets into his swing. He had some hand speed and feel for the barrel, getting a level path through the zone. He used the whole field during his round of BP, producing line drives. He worked out in the infield, showing off some footwork that moved well as he ranges up the middle. He gets himself to a good position to field the ball, funneling to his waist, and gathering his feet well before making the throw. He threw 75 mph across the infield with some carry across from an over-the-top slot. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
