Matt Zatopek is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Houston Christian. He ran a 7.53 second sixty. A primary right-handed pitcher with a medium athletic build. On the mound the quick compact mechanics get on top of the ball working down hill from a high three-quarters arm slot with the fastball sitting 80-83 mph. The slot drops occasionally on the slider with consistent hand speed allowing for sharper break in the mid 70's with a feel for the command making it a viable out pitch especially when the fastball is getting to both halves. On the infield he gets rid of the ball quicker with a short arm action, the hands present out front receiving the ball firmly as he showed best to his left and coming in on the ball. Right-handed hitter, the swing path gets long at times with some bat speed allowing the barrel to get out front at times with a flatter impacting balls best to the pull side. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
