David Pengel is a 2025 SS/2B, OF with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Avon, CT who attends Avon. Athletic, square shouldered frame with long levers and plenty of room to fill out. Recorded a 6.76 second sixty-yard dash time time. Primary middle-infielder with smooth, fluid actions throughout the fielding process. Moves well laterally, exhibits a clean funnel out in-front and has the ability to change arm angles when necessary. Displayed controlled, balanced actions on the run and has plenty of athleticism. Recorded online, accurate throws up to 86 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and a toe-tap trigger for timing. Simple, repeatable stroke with middle-of-the field approach, quickness to his hands and the ability to impact the baseball out in-front. Showed tight turns on the inner-half and flashed gap-to-gap power potential that will continue to expand as he adds strength. Athletic, fundamentally sound prospect with solid hit tool and plenty of projection remaining. Excellent Student. Named to the 2022 Northeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
