2023 Pittsburgh Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Michael Hanz is a 2025 RHP/1B/MIF with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Freeport, PA who attends Freeport Area. Hanz works from a longer limbed still plenty projectable build with room to fill out and add strength in the future. As a primary RHP, Hanz worked exclusively from the stretch displaying simple drop and drive mechanics with a full stride down the hill. The arm action was loose and whippy, releasing from a deceptive slot that made it difficult for hitters to pick the ball up out of the hand. There was tons of natural movement in the arsenal with clear run on the FB up to 85 mph as well as a breaker consistently in the 2500+ rpm range that flashed sharp 11-5 break. From his secondary IF spot, Hanz topped out at 86 mph across the diamond with solid body control and refining accuracy. Projects as a corner guy. Offensively, he started from a wider even stance with the ability to create separation and work gap to gap. He flashed carry and backspin production when on time, posting an exit velo of 81 mph. Ran a 7.48 sixty yard dash. Named to Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
