Jandaniel Gonzalez is a 2023 C with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Yabucoa, PR. Recorded a 7.28 second 60-yard dash time. Physical build with wiry strength and room for more. Primary catcher with good athleticism out of the crouch. Lower arm slot with very good arm strength up to 86 mph. Longer arm stroke behind the plate with good game actions and a plus arm that resulted in a best pop time of 1.82 seconds. Left-handed hitter with looseness to the barrel and solid bat speed. Straight stance with some barrel wrap to start. Coils and uncoils the hips well with fast hands. Creates length and leverage. Solid power upside long term. Great student. Verbal commitment to Indiana State.
