Erick Thompson is a 2024 3B/RHP, 1B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Prosper, TX who attends Prosper. A bigger & taller frame. Some physicality to the build with a high-set waist. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash. A primary right-handed pitcher with a knee-to-chest leg lift. Creates some torque moving through the delivery and stays in line as he moves down the mound. Gets out over the front foot. Has a longer arm action, hiding the ball well through the back. Small side step as he starts the motion. His fastball works 83-85 mph and pairs well with his slider. The pitch works around 78 mph and spun up to 2,226 RPMs. The pitch has good horizontal break and was a pitch he could backdoor against lefties. Projectable actions on the mound. Struck out 3 hitters during his outing. A right-handed hitter with a bent knee stance and tight hands. He keeps the back elbow up and uses a small leg lift trigger to get on time. He was working to lift the ball and was able to launch line drives pull-side and into the pull-side gap. Had a good shift of his weight and a hard swing with some strength showing. Produced an 88 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Picked up a base hit during games. Also worked out as an infielder. His feet carried him to the ball with choppy steps on his approach. His throws were firm at 84 mph across the bag. Threw across his body. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
