Ian Draper is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Puyallup, WA who attends Gov John Rogers. Medium-long frame, athletic with even build, and can grow into one of the better players in Washington's 2025 class. 7.52 60-yd. Defensive skills at shortstop stood out and match well with the current fundamentals as a hitter. While at shortstop was a very soft glove being able to funnel to the middle well and showing loose feet and hips for lateral range. Played on time keeping throws firm to the bag and able to change arm angle showing skills to stick at shortstop. Offensively starts with a wider base and simple foot lift staying tight and connected with the barrel and rotating the body well. Batspeed stood out and matched well with the loose hands flashing some twitch in the barrel that came out during gameplay. Finished on the hill seeing the hands work down and stay on a pause from the small sidestep and foot tap. Controlled the front leg lift and tuck before driving down the hill. Held his weight over the rubber well with a longer stride and flashed the ability to produce force into the front side. Compact swing with a 3/4 release showed fluid arm speed to produce ride through the top of the zone with the fastball and showed an overhand 11/6 shape with length. Named to the Northwest Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List and an excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
