Lucas McNellis is a 2024 C/RHP, 1B, OF, UT with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Woodbury, MN who attends Woodbury. Large, physical build with tons of present strength throughout his frame. Recorded a 7.47-second sixty-time. Primary catcher, showed off good athleticism behind the plate, quick transitions, gaining ground to his target with accurate throws. Recorded a best pop time of 2.02-seconds with a potential above-average arm, up to 75 mph on his throws. Secondary right-handed pitcher, works from a full wind-up with a short side-step and a belt high leg-lift. Showcased a heavy fastball with tough late-life through the zone, up to 83 mph while ranging from 79-82 mph occasionally cutting his fastball. Flashed some feel for breaking ball that had some depth to it. Also took reps at first base, some stiffness in action but had an idea of how to play around the bag, up to 83 mph on his throws. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance and a high-hand set. Flat barrel path, creating tons of back spin on the ball, with some juice to the pull side. When he got the barrel to the ball on time it really exploded off his bat. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
