Josh Hammond is a 2025 RHP/SS with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from High Point, NC who attends Wesleyan Christian Academy. Recorded a 6.73 second 60-yard dash time. Physical frame with plenty of athleticism throughout. Leg lift up above the belt with a coil over the rubber. Full arm swing with above average arm speed. Fastball pekaed at 94 mph and lived in the 92-94 mph range. Spins the slider firmly with lots of sweep and kills lift on it. Real comfort with the pitch and has the makings of a plus offering; very efficient at front-dooring the pitch to right-handed hitters. Also spun high-spin curveball with 11/5 shape and bigger depth. Flashed a couple changeups in the mid-80s. Arm strength plays from secondary position of shortstop. Right-handed hitter with big bat speed and aggressive turns onto the ball. Flashed some significant pull side juice and explosive impact. When elevated and the barrel extended has big pull side power. Really impressive two-way tools with a power mentality on both sides of the ball. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Wake Forest.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
