Barrett McKenney is a 2025 SS/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Magee, MS who attends Simpson Academy. Strong and physical build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.58 seconds. A primary SS, his best throw across the diamond was clocked at 82 mph. He showed the ability to throw on the run and from multiple arm slots. He hits out of an open stance and showcased solid bat speed. Did a nice job of utilizing his strong lower half into his swings. Was able to get consistently extended out front on contact which led to some pull side juice. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. His FB topped out at 82 mph along with some running action. Also showed a CB with 11/5 shape with plenty of depth. Maintained FB arm speed when throwing his CH too which added an element of deception. Excellent student in the classroom.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
