Oscar Yanez is a 2023 C/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Sunshine State Elite Academy. Recorded a 7.86 60-yard dash time. Primary catcher with a strong and physical build. Starts balanced with feet slightly staggered behind the plate. Employs a quick transfer and ball comes out of the hand quickly. Throws all accurate to the bag. Right-handed hitter and starts with a medium wide base, feet slightly open, and a high hand set. Uses a short leg lift trigger into the swing. Possesses excellent bat speed and keeps the barrel in the zone for a good amount of time. Swings to do damage and worked on line while catching the ball out front well. Hands are quick and stroke is direct with torque. The juice as well as defensive skills should play in game and allow for impact on both sides of the ball. Excellent student.
