Gustavo Melendez is a 2025 SS/2B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Cayey, PR who attends Colegio La Merced. Shorter compact build with good present strength. Left handed hitter, hits from a bent knee stance, has fast hands and creates very good bat speed, very hitterish and confident actions in the box, will be able to handle elite level velocity, will show some power and juice as well. 6.96 runner in the sixty. Primary middle infielder on defense, gets the glove down early and has soft hands at the ball, active feet with some quickness, very balanced charging the ball, good carry on his throws from a compact arm action and quick release. Very good student, verbal commitment to Wake Forest.
