Andrew Abler is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-1 197 lb. frame from Novi, MI who attends Novi. Ran a 7.42 second sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher with an athletic build. On the mound the fastball was impressive filling up the zone in the upper 80's for most of the outing and touching 90 mph. The operation is smooth and easy down the mound with good whip out front showcasing an ability to create down hill plane to the plate. He worked in his two off speed off of the fastball showing an understanding of how to set up each pitch. The changeup has some present fading action in the mid 70's with the breaking ball showed later depth in the low 70's to round out an overall projectable operation on the mound. At first base he did a Nic job getting rid of the ball quickly on the double play feeds with some feel for the action and an understanding of the footwork. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base creating small separation with the hadn't load. Showed some strength at the point of contact when he gets extension out front using his length and lofted path to create back spin on the ball flight. Excellent student. Named to the 2022 Great Lakes Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
