Derrell Fletcher is a 2022 C/RHP with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Richmond, VA who attends Benedictine. Big and strong athletic build. Sets up well behind the plate defensively, has soft hands receiving the ball with a quick transfer throwing, solid footwork, overall mechanics and fundamentals behind the plate are good, has arm strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a short stride into contact, loads into his back side well, has a short and quick swing with good strength at contact, mid field to pull side line drive approach. Also pitched, has a compact arm action from a high 3/4's arm slot. Arm strength played up well on the mound, mid-80's fastball with good life and downhill angle. Slurve type breaking ball showed good sweeping action and depth from a consistent arm slot as his fastball. Two-way prospect. Very good student. Named to the Coastal Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
