Evan Miranda is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Fontana, CA who attends Orange Lutheran. Large frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Primary right-handed pitcher, slow and methodical tempo to delivery, works with a short arm action through the backside getting to a high three-quarters release, shows a quick shoulder and present feel for working down in the zone to either side of plate. Pounds the strike zone, fastball topped out at 89 mph and maintained velocity well, competes in the zone and mixed a curveball with 11-5 shape up to 73 mph with ability to land for strikes. Longer actions at first base and will continue to refine overall footwork, shows accuracy on throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Incorporates strength nicely into swing, employs a middle of the field approach and executes with occasional lift out front, jumps when squared, tends to open front side early at times. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
