Deacon Nelson is a 2026 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Twinsburg, OH who attends Twinsburg. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and lean build with plenty of room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet on approach to the ball and fields it out front, short arm action with quickness and shows carry across the diamond, shows the ability to drop slot on the charge play. Also pitched, long and loose arm stroke on backside before getting extended out front at release; fastball jumps out of hand cleanly and topped out at 80 mph, steady and consistent life while working around the zone. Occasionally gets around the curveball, up to 62 mph, shows 11-5 shape when on top with short depth through the zone. Left-handed hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and lower back elbow at the plate; Does a nice job of remaining short and quick to the ball with hands and barrel, shows comfort turning on the ball but can work to all fields. Gets the barrel out front and to the ball consistently, strength will continue to develop in swing, repeats swing.
