Ty Deperno is a 2023 C/RHP/MIF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Valencia, CA who attends West Ranch. Medium frame with a strong and athletic build. Ran a 7.07 second 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, arm strength stood out the most, stiffer hips with some length to moving through it but has a quick release with arm speed and creates excellent carry on strong throws to the bag. Also pitches, athletic down the mound with efficient movements, clean arm action through a three-quarters slot with good arm speed and lower effort, worked up to 87 with the fastball and pounded the zone getting ahead of hitters. Showed split changeup with very heavy fade in upper-70s and a slurve-like breaking ball with solid bite. Righthanded hitter, wide base and small shift in, longer path to contact while working to lift, has some strength to the swing and can use the whole field, will need to stay through the baseball a bit better but good foundation across profile. Great student. Named to 2022 Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
