Ryan Johnson is a 2024 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Carlisle, KY who attends Nicholas County. Features a lean frame with strength present. Put together an impressive workout. Primary left-handed pitcher. Utilizes a high leg kick with a slight turn at leg lift. Ball comes out of a 3/4 arm slot cleanly. The fastball sat 84-88 mph with slight armside run. Showed the ability to command the pitch well. Worked it to all four quadrants with the ability to stay on the edge of the zone. The heater paired with a mid-70’s slider with a two-plane break. Flashed the ability to create sharp, late break with legit swing and miss ability. Also showed feel for an upper-70’s changeup with late fading action. Has the potential to be a quality third offering. Got ahead in counts using all three offerings. Extremely intriguing arm. Showed some two-way potential at the plate. Left-handed hitter. Looks to do damage in the box. Displayed good bat speed through the zone with consistent feel for the barrel. Strength combines with good leverage to produce loud contact fairly often. Has power bat potential. Also showed good speed. Ran a 6.87 60-yard dash. Very good student. Named to the Indianapolis Indoor Top List.
