2023 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Joseph Vaccarella is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 6-3 207 lb. frame from Mickleton, NJ who attends Gloucester Catholic. Large, strong looking frame with well-proportioned strength throughout and room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated windup with good rhythm and tempo into slightly higher leg lift. Keeps good direction and incorporates strong lower half down the slope well. Fastball worked in the 83-85 mph range for the majority of his outing with good ride to the top of the zone and topped out at 87 mph from a higher three quarters arm slot. Displayed a full assortment of secondary offerings with his cutter and splitter showing best at present. Cutter showed good horizontal tilt and late bite to it, while the splitter has tumble and is well-replicated. Tons of upside remaining with more velocity in the tank. Secondary first baseball with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set. Displayed some agility around the bag, a clean funnel and decently quick turns to throw. Left-handed hitter that hits from an upright, wider stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hanging trigger. Lofted stroke with tons of intent and leverage out in-front. Whole field approach with monster usable power that will only continue to expand as he fills out. Displayed consistent contact with some feel for the barrel and plenty of present bat speed. High upside prospect on the mound with legitimate power potential moving forward. Named to the 2023 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
