2022 Florida Top Prospect Games
Michael Petite is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Palm Bay, FL who attends Melbourne. Athletic build with very good present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread slightly open stance with a hanging leg raise trigger, stays tight in his turn, long and loose swing with lots of lift, swings hard and looks to drive the ball, easy power when he's timed and squared up. Primary outfielder on defense, has very good arm strength from an over the top release, throws carry with one hop accuracy, ran a 6.64 sixty at the PG National Showcase. Also pitched, has a methodical delivery with a big hip turn at the top, arm is loose and fast, good lower half direction down the mound. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, ball comes out of his hand easy, gets nice carry and life in the zone. Tends to get under his curveball but flashed nice tight spin and two-plane shape when he gets on top. Showed a change up in warmups but not in the game. High level athlete who plays with enthusiasm. Good student, verbal commitment to UAB. Named to the Florida Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
