Tyler Bayer is a 2024 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends South Forsyth. Features a bigger build with strength present. Primary right-handed pitcher. Side steps into a belt-high leg left and slight crossfire landing down the mound. Throws from a high 3/4 slot with a long arm action on the backside. Fastball sat 88-91 mph, T93 mph, with armside run and sink. Can locate the offering well to the bottom half of the zone. Showed the ability to generate whiffs often with a low-80’s slider. Showed spin rated near 2400 rpm. Also flashed low-80’s changeup with spin rates in the 1400’s. Stuff generates weak ground balls early in counts. Arm strength plays in the outfield and at first base, throwing 96 mph and 94 mph from each respectively. Shows an aggressive approach and intent from both spots. Switch-hitter. Utilizes a wide base stance with a high hand setup. Swings with intent using a longer, uphill path. Still developing overall feel for the barrel. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. Very good student. Verbal commit to Kennesaw State.
