2021 Southeast Prospect Showcase
Melvin Blocker is a 2024 OF/RHP, 2B, SS with a 5-8 143 lb. frame from Locust Grove, GA who attends Spalding. He showed good speed with a 6.92 second sixty. A primary outfielder with a high waist and projectable frame. In the outfield he showed good feel forte actions with good athleticism as he worked to and through the ball with a clean exchange and quick release with average carry on the throws. On the infield he showed the safe good feel for the leather presenting the glove well out front and showing good timing to the movements with the ability to make plays from multiple arm slots. Right-handed hitter, starts with a spread base showing plus feel for the barrel as he sprayed line drives to all parts of the park with projectable jump off the barrel that will only get better with added strength. Very good student. Named to the 2021 Southeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
