Jonathan Velazquez is a 2020 3B/RHP/OF with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Christopher Columbus HS. Recorded a 7.47 second 60-yard dash time. Large physical frame with lots of well-proportioned strength throughout. Primary third baseman who rounds the ball well and funnels out in front nicely. Clean exchanges with very good arm strength recorded up to 88 mph across the diamond and 89 mph from the outfield. Accurate carry across with some good range to either side as well. Arm strength plays nicely as a secondary pitcher. High three-quarters arm slot, long loose and clean arm stroke, and drop and drive lower half actions. Stays online well with a good, sharp curveball with 11/5 shape. Righthanded hitter with an upright wide base, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Lots of strength to create power to the pull side. Longer stroke with a deeper load and excellent when getting fully extended to drive the ball. Good student. Named to the 2018 Main Event Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Stetson.
