Jin Kasuya is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Lawrenceville, GA who attends Mountain View. Medium, athletic build with square shoulders and some present strength proportioned throughout, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet with lateral quickness and agility to either side, soft and quick hands play nicely out front at the ball and to the backhand, solid defensive actions and repeats them well with comfort, accurate throws across the diamond with carry to first base. Also pitched, quick outing on the mound, fastball topped out at 79 mph and lived around the zone well, showed athleticism in delivery and mixed a short curveball for strikes up to 67 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Movement to hands at start of swing, shows quickness to them and does a nice job of getting the barrel out front, remains short and quick to the ball through the zone. Repeats swing well and works the middle and pull side parts of the field with comfort, strength projects nicely moving forward. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to South Carolina.
