Marcus Cantu is a 2026 SS/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Friendswood, TX who attends Lutheran South Academy. Medium athletic build with good present strength. Primary shortstop on defense, has very soft and quick hands, plays under control and is always balanced, has solid raw arm strength but relies more on a quick release on his throws, has range on balls over his head, has a feel for playing defense. Left handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a big leg pull back load, has a short swing with some lift through the ball, consistently on time with his load and hands, patient hitter who works counts and has a plan at the plate. Will play above his physical tools. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Texas. Named to the Class of 2026 All-American Games Top Prospect List.
