AJ Shelton is a 2023 OF/RHP/1B/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Dunedin, FL who attends Dunedin. Shelton was a stud from both the outfield and on the mound, touching 87 mph and 89 mph at each position respectively. Shelton has clear strength and athleticism in the build, flashing an aggressive approach to the ball from the OF with tons of downhill momentum and accurate throws. The full arm action translated on the bump, as Shelton worked exclusively from the stretch to pound the glove side of the plate. He mixed a breaker with 11-5 shape, keeping the operation simple and repeatable. Offensively, Shelton created consistent carry and backspin on the ball, working gap to gap with dangerous power potential. The stroke was balanced and controlled with strong hands and solid bat speed. Ran a 7.12 sixty yard dash. Named to Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
