Garrett Smith is a 2023 1B/LHP, OF with a 6-1 198 lb. frame from Melbourne, FL who attends Eau Gallie. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front with two hands, funnels into body, works on top of throws across the diamond with a shorter arm action and tight release on throws, shows carry out of hand. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with an even stance; does a nice job of staying connected in swing and getting the barrel out front consistently, clean and loose stroke. Repeats well, showed comfort working to pull side with back spin, projects well physically, stays balanced throughout swing. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
