Franklin Gomez is a 2022 SS/MIF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends All Hallows. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present stregth to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well to the ball, glove plays well at the ball and shows quickness to transfer with an extra step moving into release, will continue to develop a consistent release point, repeats actions well. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Quickness to hands and stays short to the ball with balance to mechanics. Creates some lift in path and shows carry to pull side, occasionally mistimed with front side, ball comes off well to all fields. Good student.
