2023 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Austin Ellis is a 2024 C/1B/3B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Saratoga Springs, UT who attends Mountain Ridge. Ellis worked exclusively from his primary spot behind the plate defensively, flashing lots of bounce out of the set with ground effectively gained in the footwork down to 2B. He displayed a direct mid-line transfer and released quickly and on target, posting a 2.01 pop time. Reliable defensive presence. Offensively, the righty started from a wider even base with evident strength in the hands, whipping the barrel through the zone with intent to produce impact to all parts of the field. He utilized a quiet and simple stride into contact with solid weight shift, generating carry and backspin on the baseball. Ran a 7.47 sixty yard dash. Great student. Named to Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
