John Phillip (JP) Abt is a 2025 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Brandon, MS who attends Hartfield Academy. Tall and lean athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. 7.02 runner in the sixty. Primary middle infielder on defense, has fluid movements and is light on his feet, plus arm strength and very accurate on his throws, comfortable ranging to both sides and has soft hands to the back hand. Also worked out in the outfield and has very athletic natural actions there, long and loose arm action with lots of carry. Right handed hitter, has a very fluid swing with good extension, hits through the ball well with present bat speed, ball comes off hard, shows the ability to lift the ball and create carry on his pitch. Very well rounded player with tools and a multi-positional ability. Good student.
