2022 Northeast Top Prospect Games @ Rutgers
Josiah Brown is a 2023 SS/MIF with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from North Plainfield, NJ who attends St. Joseph. Athletic, well-proportioned frame with a strong lower half and room to fill out. Recorded a 6.98 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with smooth, fluid actions throughout the fielding process. Displayed a quick first step to laterally range well to either side, a clean funnel out in-front and the ability to change arm angles when necessary. Works downhill through the baseball and recorded online, accurate throws up to 90 mph across the diamond. Switch-hitter with a simple, repeatable stroke from both sides of the plate with good separation into launch, good feel for the barrel and plenty of present bat speed. Displayed slightly more power from the right-side with more natural lift and carry. From the left-side he stays through the middle-of-the field consistently, impacting the baseball on a line from gap-to-gap. Fundamentally sound overall skill set with quick twitch athleticism and legitimate switch-hitting skills. Good Student. Named to the 2022 Northeast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
