2020 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Daegan Strickland is a 2023 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Pooler, GA who attends Savannah Christian Prep. Athletic and strong build. Primary catcher with a side saddle set up, receives it low and out front. Longer transfer with a compact arm action and uptight release. Shows accuracy to the first base side of the bag, feet and hands play well. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a strong lower half, pounds the zone early with the fastball. Medium arm circle with drop and drive mechanics, throws a two-seam and four-seam fastball. Works both sides of the plate, repeatable and simple operation with a legit three pitch mix, projects well. Also worked out in the infield, moves through it well and can drop slot. Right-handed hitter with a tall set up and low and tight hand set. Present bat speed with the strength to whip the barrel. Turns tight and works the barrel out front, drove balls to the middle of the field, projects very well. Excellent student. Named to the 2020 National Underclass Showcase- Main Event Top Prospect List
