Saul Gonzalez is a 2018 RHP with a 6-7 230 lb. frame from Cidra, PR who attends Montverde Academy. Extra large build with very good present strength. Arm is loose and easy, long and tension free arm strong, creates good angle to the plate with plenty of extension out front. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, mostly straight. Tends to slow his arm on a slurve type breaking ball, throws it for strikes with a soft sweeping break. Long term project as he grows into his big body, throws strikes now and has some pitchability. Good student.
