Joey Spano Jr. is a 2024 SS/ with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Erie, PA who attends Cathedral Preparatory. He has a good frame with an athletic build and present strength with room to add more yet. Ran the sixty yard dash in 6.94 seconds. Primary shortstop that has good footwork and twitchy movements that allow him to have great range moving to both sides. He showed this range off in the game, making a sensational backhanded play in the hole before throwing the runner out at first base. He has a good feel for the glove and pairs this with quick hands, transferring and throwing the ball quickly. He has a strong arm that creates plenty of carry to and through the base. Right-handed hitter that starts in an even base and uses a toe tap trigger for timing. He swings with lower hands that explode through the zone, creating tons of bat speed that causes the ball to explode off his bat. He has a line drive approach and works the middle of the field and the gaps well. He is consistently on time and makes the most of pitches left over the plate. Named to the 2022 Chicago Indoor Top Prospect List. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
