Xavier Perez is a 2027 C/IF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Urbana, IA who attends Center Point-Urbana. Recorded a 7.21 second sixty yard dash time. Large and athletic frame with great physical projection. Primary catcher, gets the ball out quick with a short and compact arm action, releases from the ear. Just replaces the feet with his footwork, could gain more ground towards second base and stay lower throughout the process. Has present arm strength for his age, overall a strong and physical prospect with things to like behind the dish. Secondary infielder, had a clean round with a solid understanding of how to play the position and the footwork required. Is athletic enough to play multiple positions. Also pitched, utilizes that same short and compact arm action and keeps it tight and close to the body. High intent thrower and gets downhill well. Flashed a 12-6 shaped curveball with some depth and good downer action, has swing and miss traits. The fastball is heavy and tough to hit. Switch hitter with a narrow stance and a high hand and back elbow set, utilizes a big leg lift trigger. Has a lot of moving parts to the swing, can be tough to time up consistently. Produces loud impact when getting the barrel out front and can create lift to his pull side, especially on the left side of the plate. Created hard contact to both sides of the field during gameplay. Very intriguing prospect with a high ceiling. Excellent student. Named to the 2022 13U/14U Midwest Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
