Diego Hernandez is a 2025 C/RHP/1B/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Weatherford, TX who attends Granbury. Medium frame with a strong compact build. Ran an 8.06 second 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, simple fundamental actions, works under control through the ball, longer take back to his release through a higher slot, developing arm strength that will improve pops but an idea to get through it. Also plays outfield and first base, works hard at the ball and fields it slightly deep, short arm stroke to release and cuts himself off some. Also pitches, young mechanics, simple lift and move down the mound, worked in mid-60s with developing feel to spin in a short look. Right-handed hitter, simple replace trigger and very short stroke, works level through the zone with quickness and hand-eye, hits out on the front side and has enough strength to make the approach work. Great student.
