Matthew Smith is a 2023 C/1B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from North Wales, PA who attends La Salle College. Smith worked exclusively from behind the dish, using a wide base and compact arm action to release the ball quickly and produce accurate throws. The transitions are clean and the velocity should steadily increase in the future. Offensively, the righty flashed compact bat speed from a slightly open stance yielding consistent contact to all parts of the field. He intended to create lift on the baseball with power potential continuing to improve as Smith fills out the build. Ran a 7.80 sixty yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
