Ryan Weller is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-3 165 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Horizon. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Listed as primary outfielder, graded best on the mound in this look; high leg lift up past belt at top of delivery, some gather on backside, higher lead arm coming down the mound, short and quick arm action through the backside with some energy and intent at release. Filled the strike zone well throughout two inning, fastball topped out at 82 mph and maintained velocity well, mixed curveball up to 70 mph for strike consistently and kept hitters off balance. Long arm swing on throws in the outfield, works to a similar three-quarters release as on the mound, shorter strides to the ball, fields closed to body with two hands out front, accuracy on throws will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide stance, hands even with back should; utilizes a medium stride moving into contact. Upper body dominant swing, generates present bat speed through the zone, shows comfort working to pull side with occasional loft and jump off of the barrel when squared. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
