Dom Vassallo is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends Monsignor McClancy Memorial. Durable frame with well-proportioned lower half and some room to physically mature. Primary right-handed pitcher that works exclusively from the stretch, using a closed off set position and lower slightly coiled leg lift to add deception. Incorporates athletic actions down the slope with good usage of his lower half, staying closed extremely well. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 80 mph from a side-arm slot. Combination of slot and slightly cross-fire release create loads of heavy sink and natural arm-side run to the fastball, locating it well to the bottom half of the zone. Mixed in sweeping breaking ball at 66 mph, tunneling it well from the same arm slot. Very uncomfortable at-bat for opposing hitters. Interesting present arsenal with projectable frame and velocity upside. Will continue to improve as he fully matures. Good Student.
