2023 13U/14U Sunshine South Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Hayden Gateley is a 2027 OF/RHP/1B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Lindale, TX who attends Lindale. Medium frame with a leaner build but some strength in the lower half. Ran a 7.42 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, plays back on the ball a bit with deliberate actions, some length working through it, lower arm slot to release and up to 68 to bags which will improve with time. Plays some first base too, fields it clean and under control, easy transitions into accurate throws. Pitches as well, big movements in the delivery and gets extended well out front, short run on the fastball up to 72, showed some feel to get downer breaking on the curveball. Right-handed hitter, open stance and even base, short and direct swing with some strength to the hands, good handle of it and creates good lift out front, intriguing in terms of power upside.

Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
