Jorge Romero is a 2024 C/MIF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Odessa, FL who attends Steinbrenner. Medium athletic build with the beginnings of some present strength. 7.33 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher who also has ability and athleticism in the middle infield. Showed good hands behind the plate with plenty of lateral ability, has a quick transfer and puts his throws on the bag consistently. Works through the ball well in the infield and stays on top of his throws, hands are easy and smooth at the ball, plays under control. Switch hitter at the plate, hit from a similar approach from both sides with similar bat speed, legit switch-hitter, moves in well from both sides with a line drive swing plane, tends to hit through the ball better from the right side. Nice all around player with versatility on both sides of the ball and plenty of projection left. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.
