Alexander Iida is a 2023 RHP/2B, 3B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Irvine, CA who attends Crean Lutheran. Larger build with some athleticism. 8.02 60-yd. Flashed some solid defensive traits on the infield. Catches what he gets to with solid glove actions. Improving first step quickness will allow him to cover more ground. Flashed some arm strength with fair carry. Even base with low hand setup at the plate. Utilizes toe tap timing mechanism. Flashes some bat speed with the ability to drive ball to the pullside. Overswings at times. Limiting effort and head movement would lead to more consistent contact. Showcased an athletic delivery on the mound. Drop and drive mechanics allow him to get into his lower half well. ¾ arm slot with clean arm path. Repeats delivery despite moderate effort needed. FB sat 74-78 mph with quality armside run. Worked well to the glove side. Got in on hitters often. CB sat 62-69 mph with 1-7 break. Flashed bite when thrown hard with the ability to get whiffs. CH sat 69-72 mph with fading action. Has swing and miss ability. Solid three-pitch mix. Very good student, as well.
