Ricky Hernandez is a 2027 RHP/C/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Miami Lakes, FL who attends Monsignor Edward Pace. Broad, durable frame with present lower half strength and room to add moving forward. Recorded a 8.89 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher with a simple, repeatable operation. Incorporates slightly above belt high leg lift into balance, stays online and uses strong lower half to create energy down the slope. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 80 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with ability to use all four quadrants of the strike, some heaviness to his fastball and generates whiffs up in the zone when ahead in the count. Mixed in 11-5 shaped curveball as go-to secondary offering, as it displayed some sharpness and depth to it. Throws with conviction, will continue to improve with additional velocity and continued refinement. Secondary catcher that received from a slightly higher side-saddled stance with softness to his hands and a fairly direct mid-line transfer. Upright movements out of the crouch, works into a shorter arm action and produced arm strength up to 67 mph during drills. Took part in the infielders portion of the workout as well, where he used deliberate footwork to range laterally from side-to-side and delivered fairly accurate throws up to 75 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, even base with a hight, tight hand set and toe-tap trigger. Lofted stroke with elongated swing path and some leverage out in-front. Pullside approach with ability to create backspin and carry to that side, will continue to improve with some minor swing adjustments and additional strength.
