Tate Riggs is a 2024 RHP/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Nolensville, TN who attends Nolensville. Ran a 7.95 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher with good size and strength to current build. Full windup with tempo and good load into backside before driving down the mound with a direct line to the plate. Arm takes a long, loose action to release from a three-quarter slot. Fastball at 81-mph with sink late in the zone. Curveball at 69-mph with good rotation, 12/6 shape with depth. Secondary first baseman featured clean footwork in the infield and around the bag with feel for the glove. Arm produced throws at 82-mph with accuracy across. Worked through the ball in the infield as well with throws at 81-mph with carry across and feel for the glove. Square stance at the plate with leg kick for timing. Hands stay high and stationary as he tracks pitches into the zone. Direct swing path stays on a linear path with strength, and developing rhythm and timing to the swing. Contact is out front with line drive result to the gaps, especially to the pull side. Good student.
