Garrison Sumner is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Eagle Mountain, UT who attends Westlake. Recorded a 6.76 second 60 yard dash time, showcasing great speed. Big and strong frame with an athletic build. Primary shortstop, circles well and moves well laterally. Arm definitely plays from the left side, throws jump out of the hand at 91 mph. Fields out in front, solid round overall, more of a third base profile moving forward. Secondary right-handed pitcher, extremely quick arm and short arm action, works well down the mound. Drop and drive mechanics, ball comes out clean, some effort in the delivery. Tight breaker with sweeping action, gets good tilt. Can throw fastball to both halves, shows short arm side run on the fastball. Stays in line with the plate, keeps it simple in the stretch, really impressive outing on the mound. Right-handed hitter with an even stance and present physicality, big leg lift trigger with some lean on the back side. Very quick bat, level path with a pull side approach. Bat tilt load, uses the lower half well, shows explosive hips and hand strength. Good rhythm to the swing, impacts the ball, consistent timing will come with added repetitions. Good student.
