James Hankerson is a 2023 1B/OF with a 6-3 235 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Berkeley Prep. Big and extra strong build. Switch-hitter at the plate. Hits from a straight stance right handed with a short and simple swing from a still hand start, high contact swing from a big man, strong enough to get some jump but has plenty of room to open up from this side. More of an upright stance with looser and longer hands from the left side, creates more bat speed with more lift here. Has the tools and strength to develop from both sides. 7.01 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense. Very good student, verbal commitment to Wake Forest.
